What is LASIK Eye Surgery?
Laser In Situ Keratomileusis, commonly known as LASIK is a form of refractive eye surgery that is performed by reshaping the curvature of your cornea to improve your vision. Seeta Eye performs all our bladeless LASIK eye surgery in-house with equipment that is privately cared for and maintained to ensure it always meets our standards of excellence.
LASIK eye surgery can be used to address issues with:
- Nearsightedness (myopia)
- Farsightedness (hyperopia)
- Astigmatism
- Presbyopia
Seeta Eye's experienced LASIK doctors will look carefully at your conditions and medical history to determine the optimal individualized LASIK solution for you. Depending on your individual needs and preferences, our LASIK surgeons offer a variety of Laser Eye Surgery procedures to help you achieve your personal visual goals.
What LASIK Eye Surgery Options Are Available?
At Seeta Eye we perform a variety of vision correction procedures so that we can recommend what you need to achieve your best visual outcome.
Gone are the days where a blade is used to create the flap to prepare the eye for laser treatment. At Seeta Eye we are proud to offer both the Visumax and IntraLase lasers. Your surgeon will determine which is best for you.
Wavefront Optimized LASIK: Wavefront technology is the most advanced LASIK technique available today. While Standard LASIK mimics your eyeglass prescription by correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism it does not treat high order higher-order aberrations that cause symptoms relating to glares, halos, and decreased night vision. Wavefront LASIK provides a truly customized, personalized, correction for your eyes, eliminating imperfections beyond myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
Monovision LASIK: Monovision LASIK is an ideal corrective procedure for patients who have difficulty seeing both near and far and want a permanent corrective solution without having to depend on bifocals or contacts. By adjusting the dominant eye for better distance vision and the non-dominant eye for clarity up close, clearer vision can be obtained at all depths.
LASIK Alternatives
Although LASIK is the most widely known laser correction procedure, it may not be the best option for everyone. Effective alternatives that will help you restore clear, sharp vision include SMILE and PRK surgery.
SMILE: Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE) is a revolutionary laser vision correction surgery that can help significantly decrease your reliance on prescription eyewear. This LASIK alternative offers similar results to other forms of laser vision correction, but may come with fewer risks for issues such as dry eyes and, because it does not require the creation of a flap, eliminates the risk of flap complications.
PRK: PRK is the original form of laser vision correction and is still used today on appropriate patients. Today PRK is an alternative for those that may not be a good candidate for LASIK. This can include patients with thin corneas or other specific corneal imperfections.
