Despite the advances in laser surgery technology over the last decade, many people who come to our Highland area practice are not candidates due to corneal degeneration and other factors. For these patients, refractive lens replacement is the most promising alternative to LASIK, and may even improve on older methods of vision correction.

Ideal candidates for refractive lens replacement:

  • Have extreme farsightedness
  • Are ineligible for LASIK or phakic intraocular lens implants
  • Are unable or unwilling to wear glasses or contact lenses
  • May have cataracts that are causing additional vision problems

Before deciding whether or not to undergo refractive lens replacement, you should have a regular vision check-up and wavefront analysis to determine whether other corrective vision procedures might be more suitable. At your initial consultation, you can choose the type of intraocular lens that best suits your vision needs.

Seeta Eye Care offers a variety of options for intraocular lenses, including:

  • ReSTOR® Multifocal lenses
  • ReZoom Multifocal IOL
  • Crystalens
  • Aspheric lens implants
